China urges Iran, U.S. to resolve disputes through dialogue
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Friday, following the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump, that Beijing will continue its efforts to end conflicts and restore peace to the Middle East.

Tehran - BORNA - Wang Yi stated: "China is actively working to achieve peace and facilitate negotiations, and it will continue to play its role for a swifter end to conflicts and the restoration of peace in the Middle East."

He also emphasized that China urges Iran and the United States to resolve their differences, including the nuclear issue, through dialogue, and noted that Beijing supports the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Chinese minister called for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as quickly as possible.

Wang Yi added that the meeting between Xi Jinping and Trump was of great significance, marking the entry of China-U.S. relations into a new historical phase. The Chinese Foreign Minister further continued that the President of China will visit the United States this autumn at the invitation of Trump.

Following the warmongering actions of the U.S. and the Zionist regime in the region, and with the recurrence of illegal attacks against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran since February 28, 2025, officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that all vessel traffic through this vital international waterway—which is located adjacent to Iran's territorial waters and coastline—must be carried out in coordination with Iran, and vessels associated with the U.S., the Zionist regime, and their allies will not be permitted to pass.

Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Wang Yi said: "China and the U.S. hope this conflict ends as soon as possible, and both sides have taken numerous measures to advance peace negotiations."

According to the Chinese Foreign Minister, Beijing and Washington stand ready to maintain their cooperation and play a constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.

Wang Yi noted that confrontation between China and the United States could be catastrophic for both nations and the world as a whole, whereas cooperation can bring about significant benefits.
