Appreciating Islamabad’s diplomatic role
President Pezeshkian extended his congratulations to the government and people of Pakistan on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. He expressed Tehran's appreciation for Islamabad’s constructive and responsible role in supporting diplomatic initiatives and its efforts aimed at reducing tensions and ending ongoing conflicts and crises in the region.
The Iranian president further emphasized the critical importance of sustained cooperation and coordination among Islamic nations to safeguard the stability, security, and shared interests of the Muslim world.
Prospects for sustainable regional peace
For his part, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his Eid al-Adha greetings to the president, government, and nation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Pakistani premier expressed optimism regarding the ongoing diplomatic tracks, hoping they would yield definitive, effective, and sustainable results in the near future, thereby paving the way for enhanced regional peace, stability, and cooperation.
Reviewing the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and fraternal ties connecting Tehran and Islamabad, the two officials explored pathways to elevate bilateral relations. They specifically focused on expanding partnerships in economic, commercial, transit, and customs affairs, stressing the necessity of accelerating the implementation of joint agreements and utilizing existing capacities to broaden mutual ties.
