IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi told RIA Novosti that the agency's inspectors have not yet been able to return and gain access to Iran's nuclear facilities.

Tehran - BORNA - Grossi responded to a question about inspector access, saying: "Regarding the access you asked about, we have not yet been able to return to these sites. We have requested this access, but so far it has not been possible."

Earlier, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, had emphasized that "there is no plan for access to the facilities that were attacked and to Iran's nuclear materials," adding that these issues will only be reviewed and resolved within the framework of a final agreement and as a result of the other side's practical action in ending all sanctions and other matters.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman had also noted, referring to the memorandum of understanding to end the war, that under Clause 8 of the document, negotiations on the nuclear issue will take place within a 60-day timeframe, subject to the fulfillment of the prerequisites for starting negotiations according to Clause 13.

Grossi also claimed that the agency believes Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles are still being kept at its nuclear facilities.

He said: "Our overall assessment is that these materials are still in the same location. Of course, from the agency's perspective, to be able to confirm this definitively, we need to regain access to these facilities, conduct inspections, and ensure that all materials are still there. We have not yet succeeded in doing so, but there are logical reasons indicating that these materials are currently still in those locations."

Grossi claimed that the agency's assessment is based on the last routine inspections conducted before the 12-day war last summer.
