President of Iraq's Kurdistan Region arrives in Iran

Tehran - BORNA - Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, arrived in Iran on Friday morning at the head of a high-level delegation of Kurdistan Region officials to attend the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader.

During his official visit, Barzani will participate in the farewell and funeral ceremony for the martyred leader and is scheduled to meet with senior Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohammad Bagher Zolqadr, and several other high-ranking Iranian officials, to discuss bilateral issues and the most important regional matters.

Barzani was welcomed by Abdolkarim Hosseinzadeh, Iran's Vice President.

Earlier, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi also traveled to Iran at the head of a parliamentary delegation.
