Araghchi appreciates positions of D-8 Islamic member states
Tehran - BORNA - Soheyl Mahmoud, Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization (eight developing Islamic countries), who traveled to Tehran to attend the tribute ceremony for the martyred leader, met with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Friday evening.
The D-8 Secretary-General expressed condolences over the martyrdom of the leader and other officials and citizens during the US-Zionist imposed war, conveying his sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian government and people.
He also presented a report on the D-8 Secretariat's programs and upcoming meetings, calling for Iran's continued active participation in future events and sessions.
Araghchi expressed gratitude for the Secretary-General's presence at the ceremony and for the valuable positions of Islamic member states in condemning US and Zionist regime military aggression and declaring support and solidarity with Iran.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the important and effective role of regional organizations in countering aggressive US unilateralism and stressed Iran's continued cooperation and active participation in the organization's future meetings.
