Araghchi: Iran Resolutely Pursues War Termination and End of Occupation in Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed that Tehran is strictly pursuing a permanent end to the war in Lebanon and the cessation of foreign occupation, in accordance with the established ceasefire memorandum.

Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a bilateral meeting on Saturday afternoon with a senior delegation from Lebanese Hezbollah.

The delegation, led by former Lebanese minister Mohammad Faneesh and including members of parliament and senior officials, traveled to Tehran to represent Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem at the memorial services for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

During the meeting, Mohammad Faneesh conveyed the warm greetings and deepest condolences of Sheikh Naim Qassem to Iran's leadership, the President, the government, and the nation over the martyrdom of the late Leader, his family members, and accompanying military commanders during the recent military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime.

The special envoy of Hezbollah’s Secretary-General highly commended the steadfastness of the Iranian nation, the powerful defense displayed by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, and the exceptional expertise of Iranian diplomatic negotiators, particularly in supporting Lebanon's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed his sincere appreciation for the presence of the Hezbollah delegation at the state funeral ceremonies and thanked Sheikh Naim Qassem for his comforting message of solidarity.

Araghchi described the courageous resistance of Hezbollah in facing the plots of the Zionist occupying regime as a source of immense pride for both Lebanon and the wider Islamic world, reaffirming the Islamic Republic’s unalterable support for the Axis of Resistance.

Honoring the memory of the late Secretary-General Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and all fallen heroes of the Lebanese resistance, Araghchi emphasized that Iran is actively and resolutely pursuing the demand for a definitive end to the war in Lebanon.

The top Iranian diplomat concluded by stating that securing the full termination of aggression and occupation remains a key priority for Tehran, strictly in line with Article One of the memorandum of understanding reached to end the recent war.
