Araghchi to US: No Final Agreement Talks While Threats Against Iran Continue
Tehran - BORNA - Following his participation in the historic nationwide funeral procession for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi issued an official statement on his X platform, conditioning the resumption of direct diplomacy on a permanent halt to Western hostility.
"Millions of proud Iranians gathered with unity and empathy to pay their respects to Grand Ayatollah Khamenei and his enduring legacy," the top diplomat stated. "Neither they nor our brave armed forces harbor any fear of any threats."
Turning directly to the operational mechanics of the current diplomatic framework, Araghchi explicitly referenced the specific commitments outlined in the recent bilateral accords. "Paragraph 13 of the memorandum of understanding is completely clear and explicit: as long as threats against Iran continue, negotiations to reach a final agreement will not begin," Araghchi clarified.
Directly addressing the United States and its negotiating partners, the Iranian Foreign Minister concluded his message with a firm warning to maintain diplomatic integrity, stating: "Abide by your signature."
The Foreign Minister's statements reference the ongoing 60-day diplomatic window established following the June 17 memorandum of understanding, signaling that Tehran will strictly tie its technical compliance and participation to the total de-escalation of threats from Washington.
