Iranian President Offers Condolences to Qatar Over Passing of Former Emir

Tehran - BORNA - The official text of the President's message reads as follows:

"In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Your Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,

The Honorable Emir of the State of Qatar,

With deep sorrow, I received the news of the passing of your esteemed father, the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

I extend my sincere condolences on this loss to Your Highness, the Al Thani ruling family, and the brotherly government and people of Qatar. During his tenure and throughout his fruitful life, the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar, played a highly effective role in expanding fraternal relations and friendly cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Qatar. His contributions and memory will always be held in high esteem by both of our nations.

I pray to Almighty God to bestow His boundless mercy upon the deceased, and to grant patience and fortitude to Your Highness and the bereaved family.
