Iran's Deputy FM: If U.S. Is Wise, It Will Choose Path Other Than War
Tehran - BORNA - When asked whether the U.S. had made any contact for negotiations in recent days, Gharibabadi told local media: "We were engaged in negotiations, but unfortunately, the Americans themselves resorted to these aggressive actions and violated their commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)."
He added: "What we are currently facing is the unified and decisive defense of our country. I believe the Americans have already received their answer by now, realizing that their aggressive acts will achieve nothing. If they are wise, they must choose other approaches."
The Iranian diplomat emphasized that Iran's current course of action is to resolutely defend the country and teach a lesson to the aggressors.
Regarding the status of the Islamabad MoU, Gharibabadi noted: "Practically, the United States has violated and suspended all its commitments. Consequently, we have also suspended all our obligations under the memorandum and are currently implementing none of them."
