Iran, Iraq Sign Economic Cooperation Memorandum
Tehran (ISNA) - The agreement, signed by high-ranking officials of both nations at Saadabad Palace, includes joint cooperation documents regarding an agreement on international road transport of goods as well as other avenues of economic collaboration.
The signing followed Prime Minister al-Zaidi's arrival in Tehran on Thursday afternoon at the head of a high-level delegation.
Earlier, President Pezeshkian formally welcomed the Iraqi prime minister at the Saadabad Cultural-Historical Complex. The official ceremony featured the playing of both national anthems, a review of the honor guard, and the introduction of the official delegation members.
Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders held a private bilateral meeting, emphasizing the consolidation of strategic relations and opening new horizons for cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad.
