Iranian, Chinese Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Security at SCO Summit

Tehran - BORNA - Reviewing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing, both foreign ministers reiterated their leaderships' commitment to deepening ties across all sectors. They emphasized the full implementation of bilateral agreements and highlighted the importance of leveraging mechanisms within the SCO and BRICS to expand cooperation.

Outlining current regional tensions, Araghchi condemned U.S. strikes on Iranian critical infrastructure as war crimes and a clear violation of conflict-termination terms.

"The current instability in the Strait of Hormuz and the broader region is exclusively the result of American breach of commitments and interference with the implementation of Iran's obligations under Clause 5 of the Islamabad understanding," Araghchi stated.

Reaffirming Tehran's resolve to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against U.S. military aggression, the Iranian foreign minister stressed that all nations share a responsibility to prevent the normalization of force in international relations and the erosion of UN Charter principles.

For his part, Wang Yi emphasized that restoring peace and stability in West Asia requires building trust and fostering cooperation among regional states, affirming China's readiness to assist in achieving these goals.
