Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced that Iran and Oman held useful and constructive discussions in Tehran regarding navigation management in the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran - BORNA - Responding to reporters' queries regarding the Iran-Oman talks, Baghaei stated that several rounds of discussions took place in Tehran on Friday and Saturday at the deputy foreign minister level.

During the meetings, both sides exchanged views on establishing common principles and operational mechanisms for managing safe maritime transit through the strategic waterway, while respecting the sovereign rights of both coastal states.

Emphasizing that the talks were productive and yielded notable progress, Baghaei noted that the Omani delegation departed Tehran on Saturday evening, though technical and political consultations between the two nations remain ongoing.

In response to a question regarding current conditions in the waterway, the foreign ministry spokesman clarified that there has been no change in traffic conditions through the Strait of Hormuz.
