Russia, Iran condemn Ukrainian attack on Iranian vessel in Caspian Sea
Russia's Foreign Minister strongly condemned Ukraine's attack on an Iranian commercial vessel and stressed the need to hold the Ukrainian regime accountable for war crimes and threats to commercial shipping in the Caspian Sea.
Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Sergei Lavrov discussed the illegal Ukrainian attack during a phone call on Sunday.
Araghchi described the attack as a dangerous act of adventurism and a clear violation of fundamental UN Charter principles, stressing that Iran will decisively defend its national security and interests.
Lavrov condemned the attack as a violation of international law and a threat to commercial routes, calling for Ukraine to be held accountable for its actions.
The two ministers also discussed regional developments following US violations and the insecurity imposed on the Strait of Hormuz.
