Military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced on Monday that Yemeni armed forces launched a series of drone strikes targeting oil pipelines transporting crude from eastern Saudi Arabia to the western port city of Yanbu.

Tehran - BORNA - According to Saree, Yemeni forces deployed multiple drones against key targets and infrastructure along the East-West crude pipeline, citing the operation as a response to recent violations of Yemeni airspace by Saudi drones.

The Saudi Defense Ministry acknowledged that oil facilities in the Eastern Province had been targeted by drones, claiming to have intercepted several incoming UAVs while failing to clarify the status of other strikes, as fires continued to burn in the western region.

Concurrently, the Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement confirming the attack on oil infrastructure in the Eastern Province, alleging that the drones were launched from Iraqi territory. Saudi Arabia maintains major oil installations in its Eastern Province, particularly concentrated around Dammam.
