China calls for de-escalation in Red Sea
China's Foreign Ministry has called for de-escalation in the Red Sea, urging all parties to resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation while emphasizing that the sovereignty and security of regional countries must be respected.
Tehran - BORNA - Mao Ning, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, said at a press briefing in Beijing that China is closely monitoring developments in the Red Sea and that the safety and unimpeded passage of international waterways must be jointly protected.
The Red Sea is one of the world's busiest maritime corridors, connecting Europe and Asia. Repeated attacks on commercial vessels have disrupted global trade, raised shipping costs, and led to an expanded deployment of international naval forces to protect freedom of navigation.
