'Hadid-110': Iran's Deadliest Stealth Drone Sends Clear Message to US
Tehran - BORNA - According to The Telegraph, Iran's upgraded "Hadid-110" drone—designed to penetrate U.S. air defenses—operates at lower altitudes, higher speeds, and with reduced detectability. Powered by a jet engine, the drone is capable of reaching speeds of over 300 mph.
The report notes that this kamikaze drone was first presented to Iran's martyred leader last year during the opening strikes of the war.
While most Iranian attack drones are propeller-driven and slower, this aircraft operates on a turbojet engine. According to Iranian sources, this propels it to a speed of 316 mph, making it the fastest known Iranian drone.
The drone is launched using a solid-fuel booster that accelerates it to the required speed and altitude prior to turbojet ignition, enabling rapid battlefield deployment. This speed provides it with a significant advantage on the battlefield.
Designed to reduce radar cross-section and complicate detection, this kamikaze drone features a stealth configuration and is powered by a turbojet propulsion system. It reaches a maximum speed of approximately 517 km/h, with an estimated operational range of around 350 km and a flight altitude of up to approximately 9 km. Capable of remaining airborne for up to 1 hour, the drone delivers high accuracy with a pinpoint impact profile while carrying a high-explosive warhead of approximately 30 kg. Its rocket-assisted launch system allows for rapid deployment across multiple platforms.
Air defenses function by detecting and tracking incoming threats, then launching interceptor missiles in a timely manner to counter them. However, the faster the target moves, the less time air defense systems have to complete this process.
As The Telegraph writes, the upgraded "Hadid-110" is designed to compress this timeframe, reaching its target before defense systems and protective missiles can intercept it.
Its shape is also engineered to evade radar detection. Iranian experts describe it as possessing a sleek, screwless structure.
The report highlights that the top-mounted S-duct air intake conceals the engine's fan blades, while a radar-absorbent material covers the exterior.
The Hadid-110 carries a 30 kg warhead and has a range of approximately 220 miles. It can remain airborne for about an hour. This capability is sufficient to destroy critical targets relatively close to Iran's coastline, though it is not a long-range strategic weapon.
