Iranian, Cypriot foreign ministers hold phone conversation

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos held a telephone conversation on Thursday afternoon to exchange views on the latest bilateral and regional developments, following a call initiated by the Cypriot minister.

Tehran - BORNA - Iran's Foreign Minister emphasized during the conversation the importance of preventing hostile forces from misusing foreign bases stationed in Cyprus against Iran.

The Foreign Minister of Cyprus reaffirmed his country's commitment to the principles of international law and the necessity of resolving disputes through peaceful means. He stated that Nicosia, in communication with the British government, has ensured that foreign bases located in Cyprus will not be used against any nation, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the call, Araghchi also briefed his Cypriot counterpart on the latest progress in negotiations with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz, as well as recent developments in Iran's relations with Ukraine and Bulgaria as two European nations.
