Iran Secures Four Medals on Day Two of World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan
Tehran - BORNA - Iranian flagbearer Reza Gheitasi delivered a dominant campaign in the Mas-wrestling competition, advancing through the elimination rounds to win the final match and secure Iran's first gold medal of this year's games.
In Alysh belt wrestling, Abolfazl Heidari captured a bronze medal in the 60kg division. After receiving a first-round bye and defeating his opponent from Albania, Heidari advanced to the semifinals, where he fell 7-1 to a competitor from host nation Kyrgyzstan to seal the bronze. Meanwhile, Maryam Farahani earned Iran another bronze medal in the women’s Mas-wrestling event.
In the 80kg Alysh freestyle quarter-finals, Iranian wrestler Mohammad Nabizadeh was eliminated following a 7-1 defeat to his Kyrgyz opponent.
With the day's results, Iran's medal total at the World Nomad Games stands at four: one gold (Reza Gheitasi in Mas-wrestling), one silver (Azarang in Kurash), and two bronzes (Abolfazl Heidari in Alysh wrestling and Maryam Farahani in Mas-wrestling).
