Iran warns South Korea against military involvement in Persian Gulf, Hormuz

Tehran - BORNA - In a Korean-language post on X responding to reports about the possible deployment of South Korean forces to the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, Baghaei wrote: “Relations between Iran and South Korea go back more than 64 years and have always been based on mutual respect.”

“Iran attaches great importance to its friendly relations with South Korea. However, it is clear that under the current circumstances, when the Iranian people are defending themselves against acts of aggression and responding decisively to US war crimes against women and children, any operational participation or military presence by other parties in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz would amount to direct support for the aggressor and would have serious consequences,” he added.

Baghaei continued: “No sovereign and responsible country would submit to US pressure and extortion to become complicit in acts of aggression and heinous crimes against the great Iranian nation.”
