IRGC Captures Advanced US Unmanned Submarine in Strait of Hormuz
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has captured an advanced, autonomous US military unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz during a complex intelligence and operational effort, the IRGC Public Relations department announced in an official statement.
Tehran - BORNA - According to the communiqué, the operation took place at dawn following precise tracking by Iranian naval forces. The captured sub-surface vessel incorporates cutting-edge autonomous technology and was delivered to the US military fleet in 2025.
The IRGC confirmed that the high-tech underwater drone has been secured, adding that visual documentation and footage of the captured vessel will be released to the public in the coming hours.
