IRGC says it destroyed terrorist team in Saravan, 4 killed

Tehran - BORNA - In a statement, the public relations office of the IRGC Quds Force Ground Forces said the team was identified based on public reports and precise intelligence, and was targeted early Saturday morning.

The operation was carried out jointly by IRGC forces, the Ministry of Intelligence and police, according to the statement. Four “anti-Iranian terrorists” were killed, and a number of weapons, ammunition and explosives were discovered at the team’s hideout.

Three anonymous IRGC guards were also martyred during the operation, which continued until before noon, the statement said.

The IRGC statement said the United States and the “cursed Zionist regime,” having suffered a major defeat on the military front, had ordered terrorist groups to create insecurity in Sistan and Baluchestan province to cover up their failures.

The statement added that the number of terrorists killed could rise.

The Quds Force thanked the people of the region for their patience and cooperation, and reiterated that any breach of security for the people of Sistan and Baluchestan is a red line. It said terrorist teams belonging to “anti-Iranian groups” are under intelligence surveillance and will be dealt with at the appropriate time.
