Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni met with his Turkish counterpart Mustafa Çiftçi in Ankara on Wednesday to discuss bilateral cooperation, focusing on the activation of two new border crossings between the two countries.

Tehran - BORNA - Operationalizing two new border terminals, expanding railway transit capacity, addressing border security issues, extraditing convicts, boosting bilateral trade exchanges, and facilitating freight transport from Turkish ports to Iran were among the key topics discussed during the meeting.

Momeni, who arrived in Turkey on Tuesday evening, was received upon his arrival in Ankara by the Iranian ambassador. Highlighting the ongoing institutional ties between the two neighbors, he stated, "We have long-standing agreements with Turkey’s Interior Ministry.
