Iran army deputy: Enemy must leave region with 'failure and disgrace'
Tehran - BORNA - "Any aggressor enemy sets objectives for itself to achieve in battle, and failure to achieve those objectives amounts to the defeat of the aggressor," Sayyari said at the closing ceremony of the 11th joint basic combat training course for officer cadets at Army academies. "Today our enemy has failed to achieve any of its objectives — including inflicting damage on Iran's territorial integrity and the sacred system of the Islamic Republic — and is forced to leave the region with failure and disgrace."
Army's three-part mission
Sayyari said the mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army rests on three key pillars: defending the country's territorial integrity, defending its independence, and preserving the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"The powerful Army of the Islamic Republic needs people with special characteristics to carry out this grave mission," he said. "This responsibility is not given to just any group or segment, because we have nothing more important in this country than these three pillars."
Addressing the officer cadets, he said: "Be proud that you are among those who want to carry out the great mission of the Islamic Republic's Army. You must follow in the path of those who, over the past 48 years since the glorious Islamic Revolution, carried out this mission well and preserved the country's independence and the sacred system, to the chagrin of the enemies."
Army is 'the child of the nation'
Sayyari emphasized the bond between the Army and the Iranian people, describing the relationship as mutual.
"The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the atmosphere of the nation, and the nation is the refuge of the Army; the Army is the child of the nation," he said. "All the armed forces are children of this nation, and the nation should be proud of its Army, which is on the scene defending the nation, the country's territorial integrity, the Revolution and the Islamic Republic."
He said the slogan "the Army sacrifices itself for the nation, and the nation is the refuge of the Army" is a genuine one. "Today, in the face of the threats against our country, this remains true. This unity and solidarity exists among all the armed forces of Islamic Iran — the Army, the IRGC, the Basij, the police and everyone working in this field."
He credited Iran's steadfastness to the sacrifices of its fighters, the support and resilience of the people, and the unity and cohesion across all sectors of the country.
Enemy failed in 12-day and Ramadan wars
Sayyari said the enemy has failed in its confrontations with Iran, referencing both the 12-day war and the Ramadan war, and said that failure to achieve objectives amounts to defeat.
"The enemy must know that as long as you are on the scene and standing against the enemy with such motivation, it will always face defeat and failure," he told the cadets.
