Iran tops group at Asian Games table tennis after beating Indonesia

Tehran - BORNA - Featuring a lineup of Noshad Alamian, Nima Alamian, and Arian Ghaffari, the Iranian squad secured a 3-2 victory over their opponents to finish atop the group standings and book a spot in the round of 16.

In the individual ties, Noshad Alamian edged past Mohammad Negara 3-2 (9-11, 11-3, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5), before Nima Alamian extended Iran’s lead by defeating Mohammad Junindra 3-1 (11-7, 11-7, 10-12, 12-10). Although Arian Ghaffari fell 1-3 to Affan Pratama (11-13, 9-11, 11-9, 2-11), Nima Alamian sealed the overall triumph with a commanding 3-0 sweep against Mohammad Negara (11-5, 11-6, 11-5).

Having already defeated India and Pakistan in earlier fixtures, Iran concluded the group stage undefeated with three consecutive victories to secure direct qualification for the single-elimination phase.
