Karimi claims historic weightlifting bronze for Iran at Asian Games

Tehran - BORNA - Speaking after her landmark performance, Karimi expressed gratitude and relief at fulfilling expectations on the continental stage.

"I accomplished something very difficult and significant. I am genuinely overjoyed to be the first girl to win an Asian Games medal in weightlifting for Iran," Karimi said. "I am grateful that I did not let the Iranian people down, and I promise to bring them even greater joy with brighter medals in upcoming competitions."

Karimi dedicated her bronze medal to Imam Reza (AS), attributing her achievement to faith, family, and institutional support within the national sports federation.

"Everything I have comes from God. I owe this medal to my coaches and Dr. [Sajjad] Anoushiravani, whose steadfast backing made this possible. I also extend my deepest thanks to my parents, who have supported me every step of the way," she added.
