While the military aggression by Israel and the US against Iran's nuclear facilities is the first instance in the history of the NPT , the IAEA Director-General not only failed to condemn the act but, in recent statements, pushed for Iran's immediate return to its safeguards commitments, siding with the aggressors instead of supporting the victim.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that withdrawing from NPT requires careful expert evaluation, and Iran's current decision is to remain a committed NPT member.

Esmaeil Kowsari, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said in an exclusive interview with Borna that Iran is prepared to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ( NPT ) if Western countries activate the so-called snapback mechanism, stressing that “it will ultimately be the Western powers who must chase after us, not the other way around.”

Sayyed Abbas Araghchi, in response to the fake news of the German Foreign Ministry and the statements of the country's officials, wrote on X: Iran still adheres to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Safeguards Agreement.
