IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has acknowledged that Iran, as a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), has the right to enrich uranium.

Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva has said at the Conference on Disarmament that Tehran will never give up its right to peaceful enrichment of uranium.

While the military aggression by Israel and the US against Iran's nuclear facilities is the first instance in the history of the NPT, the IAEA Director-General not only failed to condemn the act but, in recent statements, pushed for Iran's immediate return to its safeguards commitments, siding with the aggressors instead of supporting the victim.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that withdrawing from NPT requires careful expert evaluation, and Iran's current decision is to remain a committed NPT member.
