Tehran - BORNA - Kazem Jalali, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Moscow, emphasized that relations between Tehran and Moscow are reaching a new level, coinciding with the visit of Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to Russia.

Speaking to the TASS news agency, Jalali stated: "Following the signing and entry into force of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, relations between Iran and the Russian Federation will enter a new phase of development."

Jalali noted that the main focus of the Iranian Foreign Minister's visit to Russia will be on bilateral issues.

The senior Iranian diplomat added: "In addition to bilateral issues, the Foreign Minister will discuss regional and international issues that are of high importance."

The Ambassador also highlighted the areas of common interest in the region, stating: "In our region, both countries share common ground on: the Caucasus agenda, Central Asia, Afghanistan, security issues in the region, and the Caspian Sea."
