Kazem Jalali , Iran's Ambassador to Moscow, has described the developing relationship between Tehran and Moscow as a transition toward a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" designed to secure the long-term interests of both nations.

Iran's Ambassador to Russia stated that the relationship between Tehran and Moscow is reaching a new level and confirmed that the upcoming high-level meeting between the two countries' foreign ministers will cover a wide range of issues, including bilateral ties, regional security, and the Iranian nuclear program.

Iran's Ambassador to Russia and the Head of Rosfinmonitoring consulted on measures to combat money laundering and terrorism financing.

The Iranian Ambassador to Russia said: "Many of our enemies delve into the military-defense relations between the two countries so they can uncover secrets. Since the principle of confidentiality is the basis in military cooperation, what I, as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, can say is that it is proceeding according to plan."
