Baghaei: There are no IAEA inspectors present in Iran
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson stated that "we are obliged to regulate our interactions with the Agency based on the parliament's resolution," and announced that there are currently no inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency in Iran.

Tehran - BORNA - During weekly presser of Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry, the family of martyr "Nima Rajabpour", editor-in-chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting's News Network, who was martyred during Israel's aggression, was present.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson congratulated the arrival of Journalist's Day and added: This year, we mourn the journalists who were martyred in the region, including in Gaza, as well as in the Zionist regime's attack on Iran.

Inaction of international institutions against the crimes of the Zionist regime continues

Baghaei also said in his opening remarks: One of the most important issues in the international arena is the continuation of the Zionist regime's genocide in Gaza, and unfortunately, the inaction of international institutions against this crime continues.

First Vice President to Visit Turkmenistan

Referring to the President's recent visit to Pakistan and describing it as important, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said: Today, the First Vice President will visit Turkmenistan as well.

In another part of his speech, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson also said in response to a question about the First Vice President's visit to Turkmenistan: The First Vice President's visit to Turkmenistan is to participate in the Landlocked Developing Countries Summit.

He added: This is the third summit that the United Nations is holding on this issue. Of the 32 landlocked countries, eight are neighboring Iran and in contact with Iran, and seven of its countries are members of the ECO organization.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman said: The meeting is expected to set a 10-year development plan for landlocked developing countries.

Baghaei also stated: On the sidelines of this meeting, Mr. Aref will meet and consult with a number of his counterparts. Also, on the sidelines of this meeting, a meeting of ECO countries’ transport ministers will be held under the chairmanship of the Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development.

Currently, there are no IAEA inspectors present in Iran

In response to a question stating that “currently, there are no IAEA inspectors present in Iran,” Baghaei stated: Naturally, Iran’s cooperation with the Agency must be regulated in accordance with the latest resolution of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and the government and the Foreign Ministry consider themselves obligated to regulate their interactions with the Agency based on this resolution.

He also stated that "we have made our complaints and objections to the agency's politicized performance very clear and repeated times," adding: "We are still a party to treaties such as the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and Iran, as a responsible country, adheres to the relevant documents as long as it is a party to these treaties."

The visit of the International Atomic Energy Agency official to Iran will take place in less than 10 days

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also announced in response to a question: The visit of the International Atomic Energy Agency official to Iran will take place in less than 10 days.

Iran will not have direct talks with the United States

In response to the question that Mr. Araghchi said in a recent interview with the Financial Times that direct messages had been exchanged between him and Mr. Whittaker, regarding the possibility that the possible negotiations between Iran and the United States could also change from indirect to direct, he said: No.

No specific time has been set for the next round of talks with Europe yet

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also said in response to a question regarding the next round of talks between Iran and the European Troika: "At the Istanbul meeting, the two sides agreed that the talks will continue, but a specific time has not yet been set for the next round. Iran's deputy foreign ministers are in contact and interacting with their counterparts in these three European countries."

Also, in response to a question regarding the Iran-Europe talks, Baghaei said: "The issue is nuclear talks, and we enter into every negotiation seriously, emphasizing that every negotiation must be purposeful and fruitful."

Criticizing some of the talks raised by the opposing sides regarding the talks, he said: "The discussions they raise complicate matters and create more ambiguities."

Aref to travel to Kyrgyzstan next week

Baghaei also announced: "Mohammad Reza Aref," the First Vice President, will travel to Kyrgyzstan next week to participate in the Eurasian Economic Union Prime Ministers' Summit.

In any possible negotiation, "demanding compensation from the United States" will be one of the topics on the agenda

In response to the statements of a spokesman for the US State Department who called the Iranian Foreign Minister's remarks about the need for the United States to pay compensation to Iran for the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities "ridiculous," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said: Mr. Dr. Araghchi pointed out that any future interactions and negotiations, of course if the conditions are met, will definitely be different from the time before June 13. The conditions have changed a lot, and in any possible negotiation and conversation, the issue of demanding compensation from the United States for committing military aggression against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities will undoubtedly be one of the topics on the agenda; The fact that they addressed this debate with vulgar expressions indicates that they have a certain lack of information in the field of international law.

He emphasized: Any action that violates international law is a violation and entails the international responsibility of the violating state.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said: What we unfortunately see in American policies is ridiculous and ridiculous. They commit a wrongful act, support the wrongful and law-breaking act of their closest ally in our region, and not only support it, but also try to justify and justify the actions in various ways, including the actions that are being taken in Gaza.

Addressing American officials, he said: It would be good for American spokesmen to take a look at the history of the results of the opinions of international courts on similar actions that they once called ridiculous actions.

Referring to examples in this regard, Baghaei said: The International Court of Justice case on US interventions in Nicaragua or the case of Iranian oil rigs, in both cases of which the US was found to be in violation.

He also continued to answer the question and said: All parties who directly and indirectly participated in this internationally wrongful act must be held accountable.

The British Foreign Secretary is not in a position to cast doubt on the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program

The Foreign Ministry spokesman, continuing his conversation with reporters regarding the British Foreign Secretary's statements on Iran's nuclear program, also said: Regarding the British Foreign Secretary's statements, the reality is that he is not in a position to cast doubt on the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, except to accept that it is merely a political and interventionist statement.

He clarified: If they accept the International Atomic Energy Agency, they should also accept its reports. The International Atomic Energy Agency has not found any violation of Iran’s peaceful activities in any case.

Baghaei continued: “These statements by British officials only make them bear international responsibility and lead to the conclusion that the three European countries, including Britain, do not believe that they are still members of the JCPOA.”

This senior Iranian diplomat clarified: “If they believed this, they would definitely have looked at the JCPOA and at Resolution 2231, which has approved Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, including enrichment. Therefore, the statements they made, most of which are interventionist, seem to be in line with the long-standing tradition of this country’s politicians, who unfortunately are accustomed to making interventionist statements based on a colonialist perspective.”

Baghaei reminded: “Such statements take us back to 1953 and the British coup; When Britain described the nationalization of Iran's oil industry as a threat to international peace and security and tried to drag Iran to the United Nations Security Council.

Any plan that can secure Iran’s right to enrich is subject to review

Continuing his conversation with reporters in response to another question regarding the plan which was raised by former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and former diplomat Mohsen Baharvand in the Guardian newspaper, Baghaei said: “Certainly, the proponents of this plan are best able to talk about it. What concerns the Foreign Ministry is that the issue of the consortium is not new and has been raised in previous years and in negotiations, but we have never gone into the details of this initiative.”

He continued: “It is natural for a country that has had the nuclear issue on its agenda for 10 to 20 years for concerned intellectuals and experts to express their opinions on this matter.”

Baghaei continued: “The issue of enrichment inside Iran is part of our inalienable right according to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and any plan that can secure this right is subject to review.”

America is considered an accomplice of the Zionist regime in crimes against humanity and genocide

Following the press conference on the US government's policy regarding the Gaza issue, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said: The US government has always given absolute support to the actions of the Zionist regime, whether during the Democratic or Republican periods of rule; this is why, in the eyes of the people of the region and the Palestinian people, America is considered an accomplice of the Zionist regime in committing crimes against humanity and genocide.

He emphasized: Thanks to the sacrifice of your colleagues, journalists and media people, there is now no doubt that a terrible genocide is taking place in Gaza; this genocide has been going on for two years.

The Iranian diplomatic spokesman emphasized: The Americans' statements cannot reduce the burden of guilt and complicity of America in these crimes.

And stating that "the recent incident was the presence of an American envoy in Gaza, which turned out to be just a show," he emphasized: This incident has shown more than ever that the role of the United States in trying to cover up the crimes of the Zionist regime, in addition to its support for this regime, is very clear.

The three European countries have no right to abuse the SnapBack mechanism against Iran

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also said in this press conference about the policy of the three European countries in the negotiations and the issue of the SnapBack mechanism: Regarding the three European countries, I think the issue of the so-called trigger mechanism has been discussed sufficiently. These three countries, neither from a legal nor a moral perspective, have no right to abuse this mechanism to restore sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It has also become clear to them that any abuse of this tool will definitely have consequences; both for the non-proliferation regime and for these three countries themselves.

He emphasized: The position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard is completely clear. We have previously, in the 12th government, clearly stated that we will react in case of any abuse of the mechanism known as the rollback. Therefore, the task in this regard is clear.

The very close relations between the two nations of Iran and Tajikistan are exemplary

Regarding the visit of Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to Tajikistan last week and the relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry spokesman also said: The very close relations between the two nations of Iran and Tajikistan are exemplary. We and Tajikistan are one nation in many ways; we are two countries of the same language, descent and heart. It is very important for us to use these ties, taking advantage of our common historical, civilizational and linguistic interests, to strengthen relations in various fields, especially in the economic, commercial, scientific and cultural fields.

Baghaei emphasized: This visit was a bilateral visit within the framework of the policy of strengthening relations with neighbors, especially our neighbors in Central Asia and the Caucasus region. We hope that these exchanges and contacts will lead to closer ties and greater communication between the two countries, both at the level of people-to-people relations and in the direction of expanding economic and trade cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Our defense capabilities will not be the subject of any negotiations at all

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, in response to the German Foreign Minister’s statements regarding the Iran-Europe talks and the raising of defense issues, including the issue of Iran’s long-range missiles, in these talks, said: As we have said many times, we emphasize that the defense capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran will not be the subject of any negotiations at all.

Iran and Iraq’s cooperation in the field of energy and electricity exchange is long-lasting

In response to a question about the Iraqi Minister of Energy’s visit to Iran in recent days, Baghaei stated: “The details of the understandings reached during the minister’s recent visit should be followed up with the Ministry of Energy, but what is important is that the continuation of Iran and Iraq’s cooperation in the field of energy and electricity exchange is long-lasting. The issue of paying electricity costs has also always been on the agenda of the two countries.”

He clarified: “This visit was carried out in continuation of the exchanges between the Iranian Ministry of Energy and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, and given the approaching days of Arbaeen, this visit was planned with the aim of examining solutions to help meet energy needs and strengthen cooperation in this field in the future.”

Attacks on journalists are examples of war crimes

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized regarding the martyrdom of a significant number of journalists during the Gaza war by the Zionist regime and the regime's attack on the glass building of the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation during the 12-day imposed war: According to international law, attacks on journalists and media personnel are absolutely prohibited. According to the four Geneva Conventions adopted in 1949, attacks on journalists are examples of war crimes. Therefore, from a legal perspective, the issue is completely clear and can be prosecuted.

He said in this regard: The killing of journalists in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the attack on the glass building of the National Broadcasting Corporation in Tehran and the martyrdom of a number of Iranian journalists, are all clear examples of war crimes.

Baghaei added: We have documented all these cases and are pursuing a case in this regard at the United Nations Security Council and international human rights institutions. We will not miss any opportunity to record the crimes and pursue the issue.

Developments in Afghanistan are a common concern of Iran and Pakistan

In response to the question of whether a joint decision was made during the President's visit to Pakistan to engage with Afghanistan and whether Russia's decision to recognize the Taliban government would affect Iran's decision, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said: "Making a decision on recognizing other countries and governments is an independent and sovereign decision for each country."

He continued: "We in the Islamic Republic of Iran also make decisions in this regard based on our national interests and concerns."

Baghaei emphasized: "It is quite natural that in any bilateral dialogue between two neighboring countries, especially when a common neighbor is involved, a neighbor that is facing issues and crises that can directly or indirectly affect the national security of both parties, the issue of that country should also be on the agenda." Both Iran and Pakistan have hosted refugees from Afghanistan for years, and the three countries, Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, have many things in common, including historical, cultural, civilizational, and religious ties.

He added in this context: Therefore, developments in Afghanistan are naturally a common concern for Iran and Pakistan. As a result, in any dialogue or meeting between officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the issue of Afghanistan and ways to help this country achieve greater stability, prosperity, and security will always be one of the main topics of discussion.

Trilateral cooperation between Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey is defined within an institutional and regional framework

In response to a question about the proposals raised to revive the trilateral agreements between Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey that were raised during the President’s recent visit to Islamabad, this senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated: Regarding the discussion raised about trilateral cooperation between Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey, it should be noted that this cooperation has a deep-rooted history. These three countries were the founders of the Regional Cooperation for Development Organization (RCD) a few decades ago, the same organization that later became the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Baghaei noted that the trilateral cooperation between Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey is not only historical, but also defined within an institutional and regional framework. The main focus of this initiative was initially on economic development among the member states, but in principle, if the three countries can successfully cooperate in one area such as the economy, this experience can easily be extended to other areas, whether in the political and security fields, or in the cultural and regional spheres.

We will make a decision on how to interact with this organization within the framework of the results of the Agency official’s visit to Tehran

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also said about Iran’s conditions regarding cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and how Iran cooperates with this organization, considering the upcoming visit of an Agency official to Iran and the Foreign Minister’s statements on how Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency cooperate: “Currently, the issue under discussion is not related to the presence of inspectors at our sites; because according to the resolution of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, our cooperation with the Agency is suspended.”

He continued: “The Agency representatives’ visit to Tehran is to examine the issue. We are facing an exceptional situation; for the first time in the history of the International Atomic Energy Agency, operating facilities of a country that is a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, facilities that have been under the Agency’s supervision 24 hours a day; have been the target of an illegal attack by two regimes equipped with nuclear weapons.”

He continued: “In addition, the Agency, unfortunately, did not remain neutral in this process; Not only did it not remain neutral, but it also did not fulfill its responsibilities, did not make any condemnations, and even before that, by issuing a report and then a resolution, it provided a kind of psychological and political groundwork that facilitated the US and the Zionist regime’s excuse-making. Therefore, we are now in a special situation; both in terms of the non-proliferation regime and in terms of the Agency’s regular activities. We are waiting for this meeting to take place and within its framework, we will decide on the manner of our future interaction with the Agency, taking into account the resolution of the Parliament, which is binding on us.

Appropriate treatment in accordance with the human rights obligations of the Republic of Azerbaijan with imprisoned Iranian nationals is a very rightful and logical expectation of ours.

Baghaei also said about the treatment of Iranian prisoners in Azerbaijani prisons: We have received numerous reports of mistreatment of detained and imprisoned Iranian nationals in detention centers and prisons of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is an important issue.

He added to the questioning reporter: The case you mentioned was a very shocking one. We expressed our protest and concern in numerous notes to the relevant authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Our consular section is following up on the issue in both Baku and Tehran.

Stating that “appropriate treatment in accordance with the human rights obligations of the Republic of Azerbaijan with imprisoned Iranian nationals is a very legitimate and reasonable expectation of ours,” Baghaei added: “The Convention on Consular Rights is very clear in this regard. Unfortunately, in some cases, despite the passage of two or three years since our nationals were imprisoned, we were unable to obtain a consular visit. Furthermore, we have an agreement on the transfer of convicts with the Republic of Azerbaijan, and based on this agreement, we can transfer many convicts to Iran and help solve these problems; therefore, it is an issue that is on the permanent agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its interactions with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In response to a question about the alleged working of the three countries of Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar on a plan for Iran and the United States to reach an agreement on all points of disagreement, Baghaei said: "We are not aware of such a plan."

He also explained the achievements of the President's visit to Pakistan and the importance of this visit in response to a question in this meeting.

Following the meeting, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the press conference.
