Tehran – BORNA – The head of Omani teams participating in the 2025 Technology Olympiad expressed satisfaction with attending this international event and described Iran’s technological progress as beyond expectations.
Hanan Hamad Al-Shakili, the representative of Kobe Academy from the Sultanate of Oman, told Borna’s science correspondent: I am participating in this Olympiad as the head of all Omani teams on behalf of Kobe Academy. This company specializes in technology and artificial intelligence, and our cooperation with Iran’s Technology Olympiad is considered a joint scientific project between the two countries.

Iran: Beyond the Perception of Omanis
Regarding her view of Iran prior to the trip, Al-Shakili said: Many people from Oman have previously traveled to Iran, and everyone speaks about the kindness of its people and the deliciousness of Iranian food. I had the same impression before coming. But what no one had told us about was the high level of technology in Iran.
She added: When I arrived in Iran and visited companies active in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, I was truly amazed. Iran has strong and advanced companies in the field of technology, and I was astonished to see them today.
A Positive Experience at the Technology Olympiad
Referring to her presence at the Technology Olympiad, the Omani team leader said: I must thank the organizers and officials of this competition. Everything was excellent. These competitions are not limited to Iran; they are international, with teams from various countries participating. For us, it was a very valuable and inspiring experience.
She continued: Myself and the Omani teams enjoyed the competitions very much. The organization and the technical level of the contests were high, and it proved to me that Iran is moving very seriously and progressively along the path of technological development.
Amazed by Iran’s History in Museums
In the final part of the interview, Al-Shakili referred to her visits to Iran’s cultural and historical sites and said: One of my special memories was visiting the ‘Milad Tower Museum’. There, I saw historical and valuable artifacts that truly impressed me. I felt as if I was in a land with a brilliant past and a deep-rooted civilization.
