The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has completely rejected the claims raised in the press statement by the Secretary-General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran's actions during the U.S.-Israeli imposed war, emphasizing Iran's commitment to the principle of good neighborliness and respect for the national sovereignty of all neighbors.

Tehran - BORNA - Esmaeil Baghaei, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted in a media position the actions of certain member governments of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council that violated international law by participating in the U.S.-Zionist military aggression against Iran. He noted: "Despite acknowledging their international legal obligation to prevent aggressors from using their territory and facilities to attack Iran, these governments not only took no action to prevent this but some even actively participated in the military aggression against Iran. According to the UN General Assembly's Definition of Aggression (Resolution 3314), this constitutes an act of aggression; therefore, these governments have effectively made themselves accomplices to the United States and Israel in committing heinous crimes against the Iranian people."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson also rejected the provisions of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General's press statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing: "As a coastal state of the Strait, the Islamic Republic of Iran has adopted practical and proportionate arrangements with the aim of defending itself against the aggressive actions of the U.S.-Zionist regime and its supporters, as well as neutralizing threats and the use of force against Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity while ensuring safe passage. These measures are fully consistent with the relevant rules of international law."

Regarding the issue of confidence-building among regional countries, Baghaei added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been a pioneer in building trust among the countries of the region and has invited all parties to refrain from divisive positions and behaviors. At the same time, confidence-building is a two-way street, and the governments of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council must take the necessary steps to earn Iran's trust. This, above all, requires compensating for the damages and harm inflicted upon our people due to their participation in the U.S. and Zionist military aggression against Iran, as well as refraining from cooperation and complicity with Iran's enemies."
