Gharibabadi meets with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

Tehran - BORNA - Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and senior negotiator, who is heading a delegation to Qatar, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, on Wednesday morning.

The meeting was also attended by Ali Salehabadi, Iran's ambassador to Doha, and Hamid Ghanbari, Deputy for Economic Diplomacy at the Foreign Ministry. The two sides discussed a range of matters of mutual interest, including the implementation process of the memorandum of understanding to end the imposed war, as well as challenges and obstacles in its implementation.

Ways to accelerate the implementation of the memorandum's provisions, particularly regarding Lebanon, removing existing obstacles, and expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest were also reviewed.

Following this meeting, a trilateral session was held between the senior negotiators of Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan to review the implementation process of the memorandum.

Gharibabadi, Iran's senior negotiator, told reporters after the meetings: "Today's discussions were focused on following up on the implementation of the memorandum's provisions."

Regarding the start of negotiations for a final agreement, Gharibabadi stated: "Working groups for monitoring the implementation of the memorandum and for negotiating a final agreement have been formed, but negotiations in this format have not yet begun."

According to Gharibabadi, consultations on determining the time and place of negotiations within these working groups are continuing through mediators, and once the necessary conditions are met, negotiations in the framework of these working groups will begin.
