Pezeshkian in Call with French President: US, Europe Must Prove Honesty to Gain Iran's Trust
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a phone call with the President of France: "Iran has always welcomed dialogue and engagement, but today it is the other side that must respect the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a confidence-building measure and not seek to impose its excessive demands. It is not Iran that must prove its honesty and build confidence, but the US and Europe that must gain the trust of the Islamic Republic of Iran by proving their sincerity."

Tehran - BORNA - Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, called Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, this afternoon (Wednesday, November 5, 2025). Macron expressed his appreciation to the Iranian President for taking practical steps to remove some obstacles and implement agreements reached in previous meetings.

Macron continued by stating that he would strive to create a new negotiation framework to achieve a clear result between Iran and Western countries. He said: "It is essential that our interactions and dialogues continue toward creating transparency and building confidence so that we can reach an agreement, lift sanctions, and improve and expand mutual relations."

In response to his French counterpart's remarks about negotiations with the US, President Pezeshkian referred to the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran's talks with the United States and stated: "Iran has repeatedly declared that based on the fatwa of the Supreme Leader and its security and defense doctrine framework, it does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances. However, unfortunately, we see that based on a malicious insistence, Iran is being subjected to increasing pressure and sanctions under the false pretext of attempting to build nuclear weapons."

The President added: "The principled approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran is that where misunderstandings can be resolved with logic and dialogue, the use of force and threats not only fails to solve the problem but also exacerbates differences and divisions."

Pezeshkian concluded: "Iran has always welcomed dialogue and engagement, but today it is the other side that must respect the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a confidence-building measure and not seek to impose its excessive demands. It is not Iran that must prove its honesty and build confidence, but the US and Europe that must gain the trust of the Islamic Republic of Iran by proving their sincerity."
