Iran, Pakistan Prioritize Boosting Trade Volume
Tehran - BORNA - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, heading a parliamentary delegation to Pakistan, met and held talks with Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, at the country's National Assembly building on Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2025.
Ghalibaf began the meeting by expressing his pleasure at visiting Pakistan, stating: "We thank the nation of Pakistan for their support of the Iranian nation against the aggressions of the Zionist regime, which demonstrated the deep friendly relations between the people of Iran and Pakistan. The solidarity of these two friendly and neighboring countries during difficult days indicates the excellent relations between Tehran and Islamabad, and we hope that this trip will deepen ties between the two nations, especially between the parliaments."
Referring to the Zionist regime's aggression against Iranian territory, the Speaker of the Parliament continued: "Although the initial hours were very difficult for us, we responded as quickly as possible, in a manner that the Zionist regime has not received such a firm blow since its establishment in 1948."
He stressed: "Undoubtedly, Iran and Pakistan, due to numerous shared interests, can stand together against the excessive demands of the Zionist regime and its supporters. Tehran and Islamabad can cooperate in many political, economic, and cultural affairs, and we seek to deepen these relations during this visit."
The Speaker of the Parliament emphasized the importance of developing economic relations between the two countries, saying: "One of the important goals of this trip is to expand economic relations and increase the volume of trade between the two countries, which we hope to succeed in achieving."
Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, in turn, expressed appreciation for the Islamic Republic of Iran's stance in support of the Pakistani nation and government and congratulated the Iranian nation on their victory over the Zionist regime. He said: "At the time of the Zionist regime's attack on Iran, the Pakistani Parliament passed a resolution condemning this regime's attacks against Iran, because from our perspective, Israel is the common enemy of Iran and Pakistan, and Iran and Pakistan are one nation, half on one side of the border and half on the other."
The Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly stated: "The Iran-Pakistan friendship groups will convene and plan a new strategy to advance the joint cooperation of the two countries, and senior parliamentary officials of both nations will discuss these issues in detail and comprehensively."
Following his meeting with the Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly, Ghalibaf signed the Parliament's guest book and presented a valuable gift adorned with the flags of Iran and Pakistan and national, historical, and religious symbols of the two countries to his Pakistani counterpart, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
