Pakistan Defense Minister Hints at Potential New Round of U.S.-Iran Talks
Tehran - BORNA - Khawaja Asif noted that the reports received regarding the negotiations are overwhelmingly positive, which is a favorable sign for regional stability.
Speaking to Aaj TV, the Defense Minister added that all parties appear serious about resolving the issues through dialogue. "Only positive news is being received regarding the negotiations, which is desirable for stability in the region," he remarked.
When asked whether Pakistan would be making further strategic decisions in the region, Asif offered a philosophical perspective, stating that "decisions are made by Almighty God, and He knows best what will happen."
In response to a separate question regarding India, the Pakistani Defense Minister claimed that the people there are "suffering, decaying, and in mourning."
The Minister's comments come at a critical juncture as regional mediators work to extend the current two-week ceasefire and transition the Islamabad talks into a more permanent diplomatic process. Pakistan, as the host and mediator, has played a pivotal role in facilitating this direct communication between Tehran and Washington after 40 days of conflict.
