Ghalibaf appointed Iran’s special envoy for China affairs
Tehran (BORNA) - Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf was recently appointed as the special envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran for China affairs following a proposal by the President and the endorsement of the Supreme Leader.
Informed sources noted that given the nature of Ghalibaf's appointment, this responsibility differs from previous envoys in terms of the scope of authority. Previously, individuals such as Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli served as the President's envoy for China affairs, and the late Ali Larijani functioned as the Supreme Leader’s special envoy for China affairs. However, Ghalibaf has assumed this responsibility as the special envoy of Iran with both the President’s proposal and the Supreme Leader’s approval.
On Saturday night, Ghalibaf published a post on his X social media account, referring to recent remarks by the Chinese President, stating that "the world is on the brink of a new order, and the future belongs to the Global South."
