Iran’s men’s and women’s U23 3x3 basketball teams wrapped up the third day of the Asian Nations League in Cangzhou, China, with the men suffering two defeats and the women securing one victory and one loss.

Tehran - BORNA - On the third day of the tournament, Iran's men's team fell short against Mongolia (20-18) and Japan (20-19) in their respective matchups, finishing fifth in the standings at the end of day three.

Mohammad Mehdi Rahimi, Seyed Mohammad Ghafari, Mohammad Basir Momeni, Sarem Jafari, and Argen Minasian represent the Iranian men's squad at the event.

In the women's division, Iran dropped a close match to China 15-13 before bouncing back to defeat Mongolia 22-7, concluding the third day in fourth place.

The women's squad features Farnaz Khodamoradi, Mahla Abedi, Shamim Nouri, Mahsa Karani, and Zahra Moghaddasi, with Armin Soleimanzadeh, Mohammad Sistani, Raheleh Shahdol, and Sahar Najafi serving on the coaching staff for the delegation.

The competition features teams from China, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Iran competing simultaneously across men's and women's divisions from Monday, August 10 through Saturday, August 16, with cumulative points determining the final rankings.

On Monday, August 10, the Iranian women's team lost to China 16-14 and defeated Kazakhstan 22-9, while the men's team beat Mongolia 19-15, defeated Kazakhstan 22-6, and lost to South Korea 21-15.

On Tuesday, August 11, the women's team lost to Japan 14-11 and defeated Kazakhstan 16-10, while the men's team fell to China 19-17 and defeated Kazakhstan 21-10.

Following Wednesday's action on August 12, the tournament schedule continues on Thursday, August 13, with the women's team facing China and Kazakhstan, while the men's team will play Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

On Friday, August 14, the women's team will match up against Japan and Kazakhstan, while the men's team faces China and Kazakhstan.

The tournament concludes on Saturday, August 15, as the women's team takes on China and Mongolia, while the men's team plays Mongolia and Japan.
