Baghaei: Europe must learn from Nazi experience, end inaction against Israeli regime
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the brutal treatment of pro-Palestinian activists in the Gaza aid convoy by the Zionist regime's authorities, emphasizing that Europe must abandon its inaction in the face of the Zionist regime's crimes.

Tehran - BORNA - Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei responded to the brutal treatment of pro-Palestinian activists (the Gaza aid convoy) by Zionist authorities. In a post on the X platform, he wrote: "The images of the extremist Israeli minister at the Ashdod port, personally humiliating handcuffed activists of the 'Gaza Aid' humanitarian convoy—many of whom are European citizens—are deeply shocking."

He added: "These images revive bitter historical memories; a time when the Nazi regime, following a prolonged enjoyment of absolute impunity for its crimes, viewed itself as exceptional, exempt from any accountability, and above the law."

Baghaei noted: "In the 1930s, Europe comforted itself with the illusion that it could remain silent in the face of the systematic humiliation of human dignity, the continuous disregard for international law, and the violation of moral principles, believing that by this silence it could shield itself from the consequences without ever paying a price. However, history taught them a ruthless lesson: the normalization of lawlessness and crime never remains confined to its initial victims."

The spokesperson emphasized: "Today, the real danger extends beyond the specific behaviors of this or that Israeli official. The deeper problem lies in the complicit silence, acceptance, and institutionalized inaction in the face of occupation, apartheid, and genocide; a silence and inaction that has allowed the Israeli regime's criminal policies and behaviors to be normalized, sustained, and intensified day by day."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson concluded: "If the West continues to widen the gap between its claimed values and its practical behaviors, it must expect a repetition of history's ruthless lessons; granting endless impunity and remaining silent in the face of bullying and lawlessness will never moderate these behaviors; rather, it normalizes crime and emboldens its perpetrators."
