Beijing: Relations with Iran a Priority
Tehran - BORNA - Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, wrote late Monday on the social platform X: “President Xi Jinping met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Beijing.”
She added: “Relations between Iran and China have withstood global changes and maintained steady and healthy development. China has always placed its relations with Iran high on its Middle East diplomatic agenda and is ready to advance friendship, deepen mutual trust, and strengthen cooperation across various fields.”
The spokesperson further stressed: “China will continue to uphold justice and work toward a resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue that addresses the legitimate concerns of all parties and ultimately contributes to lasting peace in the Middle East.”
On Tuesday, President Pezeshkian met with his Chinese counterpart, reaffirming Iran’s readiness to act as a strong and reliable partner. He said: “Iran seeks to consolidate peace and stability in the region and opposes oppression, aggression, and unilateralism. We want a world in which law and equal relations govern, not force or coercion.”
Pezeshkian also reiterated Iran’s commitment to expanding comprehensive ties with China, based on the principled stance of the Islamic Republic’s leadership. He affirmed Iran’s readiness to implement all provisions of the 25-year strategic cooperation agreement with China, calling for practical and results-oriented mechanisms to guide bilateral engagement.
President Xi, for his part, expressed willingness to further develop relations with Iran, saying: “We are ready to build on our previous agreements, including those reached in Kazan, and to accelerate the implementation of joint commitments. China remains eager to expand cooperation with Iran across multiple sectors.”
