Iran Strongly Condemns US Aggression in Bandar Abbas
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has strongly condemned the military aggression carried out by the United States against areas in Bandar Abbas during the early hours of Thursday, May 28.

Tehran - BORNA - Baghaei emphasized that these aggressive actions targeting Iran's territorial integrity and national sovereignty constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, asserting that the UN Security Council is legally obligated to fulfill its responsibility to hold the American aggressors accountable.

The spokesperson highlighted Washington's continuous violations of the April 7 ceasefire agreement, pointing specifically to recent American assaults on commercial shipping lines within the Persian Gulf and international waters, alongside a series of airstrikes targeting southern regions of Iran over the past few days. Baghaei reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran to implement all necessary measures to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, strictly in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

Furthermore, the foreign ministry spokesperson condemned the threatening rhetoric recently deployed by US officials against Iran and other regional states. Expressing Iran's profound solidarity with the friendly and brotherly nation of Oman, Baghaei underscored that threatening to destroy a UN member state—one that has consistently maintained a constructive, effective, and responsible role in regional peace and security while offering its good offices as a diplomatic mediator for many years—is unacceptable.

Baghaei concluded by stating that such threats not only violate the foundational international principle prohibiting the threat or use of force, but also serve as another dangerous indicator of normalized lawlessness and bullying within contemporary international relations.
