Tehran - BORNA - According to Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, Tehran’s Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini international airports, along with airports in northern, eastern, western, and southern regions, will resume operations starting Friday.
All airports in Iran — except those in Isfahan and Tabriz — will operate domestic and international flights between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The first flight to land at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA) on Friday after a 21-day hiatus was Flydubai flight FZ1819 from the United Arab Emirates.
The organization noted that airports in Isfahan and Tabriz will resume operations once the necessary infrastructure is ready.
Authorities also reopened airspace in central and western Iran for international overflights during the designated hours.
Iran had already permitted international overflights in the eastern region 24 hours a day. Airports in that region are also operating without restrictions.
Iran closed its skies entirely last month after Israel launched an aggression on the country on June 13.
The Israeli regime launched an all-out aggression on Iranian soil by targeting various military and nuclear sites, claiming the lives of dozens of top military commanders and nuclear scientists as well as ordinary civilians.
The Iranian armed forces, in response, pounded the regime and its military and industrial infrastructure, using many new-generation missiles that hit the designated targets.
The resumption of flights comes as the Israeli regime was forced to declare a unilateral ceasefire in a deal proposed by Washington on June 24.
