Iran and Turkey Stress Necessity of Increasing Bilateral Trade Volume
Tehran - BORNA - Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, who traveled to Turkey to participate in the ECO Trade Ministers Meeting, met with Ömer Bolat, the Turkish Minister of Trade, and discussed commercial relations between Iran and Turkey.
Seyed Mohammad Atabak called Turkey one of Iran's most important trade partners during the meeting and stressed the necessity of increasing trade between the two countries.
He stated, "Trade between Turkey and Iran has the potential for a major leap, and we hope to achieve this important goal by resolving some minor obstacles."
Ömer Bolat, the Turkish Minister of Trade, also acknowledged the increase in the volume of Iran-Turkey trade during the current calendar year.
Bolat remarked, "Based on the historical background and neighborly ties between the two countries, Turkey is ready to develop commercial relations with Iran."
During the meeting, the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade and the Turkish Minister of Trade reviewed several commercial issues between the two countries and reached understandings in this regard.
