Iran Protests Grossi’s Disclosure of Sensitive Nuclear Information
Tehran - BORNA - The mission said in a statement posted on social media: “Rafael Grossi’s statements about the location of Iran’s nuclear materials and facilities are deeply concerning. The unauthorized disclosure of sensitive safeguarded information provided by states to the Agency constitutes a violation of the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and the Statute of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
The statement added: “Such misconduct may entail international responsibility for the Agency. The IAEA must act professionally, respect the confidentiality of sensitive information, and preserve its technical and impartial nature.”
In his recent interviews with international media, Grossi, while commenting on the consequences of the war, raised issues regarding the location of Iran’s nuclear stockpiles and the coordinates of its nuclear facilities.
Referring to Iran’s 60 percent enriched material, he said it remains either under the rubble or in other locations, adding: “The 60 percent uranium is still there, under the rubble or, in some cases, without rubble. There are also infrastructures and equipment that may have survived some of the attacks.”
