During a meeting with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev, Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, assured that all necessary lands along the North-South Corridor route would be acquired by the government by year-end to ensure the strategic project proceeds without interruption.

Tehran - BORNA - Vitaly Savelyev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, met and held discussions with Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the SNSC Secretariat late on Monday, December 15.

The meeting was held following high-level understandings between the Presidents of the two countries, aimed at removing existing obstacles and entering the operational phase of the project.

During the session, the two sides discussed the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) as a determining component in the regional geopolitics.

Ali Larijani, stressing that "the Islamic Republic of Iran has made its decision to operationalize this corridor," announced: "In a short period, all existing institutional and executive obstacles will be removed, and the necessary agreements for the legal and executive stabilization of the North-South Corridor will be established."

Referring to the promise of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Larijani emphasized: "With the continuous follow-up by Dr. Pezeshkian, all lands located along the route of this corridor will be acquired by the government by the end of the year to ensure the project proceeds without interruption and with full coherence."

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister, welcoming Iran's decisive approach, announced Moscow's readiness to accelerate the project and begin the operational process.

In conclusion, both sides emphasized that the North-South Corridor is part of the joint strategy between Iran and Russia to stabilize sustainable cooperation and define independent regional connectivity routes. Accordingly, it was agreed that high-level mechanisms for continuous follow-up would be activated, and coordination between the relevant institutions of the two countries would continue regularly.
