MacGregor: Iran Still Has Many Cards to Play
Senior advisor to a former US defense secretary Douglas MacGregor, referring to the US and Israeli military strikes on Iran and the response of Iranian forces, said: “Iran is faring very well in the face of US and Israeli attacks. Unlike US forces, Iran does not face supply chain or production limitations.”

Tehran - BORNA - MacGregor, in an interview on the Matt Gaetz program, described Iran’s performance in response to the US and Israeli strikes as “very good” and emphasized that, unlike American forces, Iran does not struggle with supply chain or manufacturing issues.

He also noted the destruction of “all US bases and harbor installations” and the vulnerability of US logistics, adding: “Right now, the missile cities across Iran remain untouched, and the country possesses an inexhaustible stock of missiles.”

MacGregor’s remarks come as military analysts also note that Iran, controlling the strategic Strait of Hormuz and playing a key role in the global energy market, still holds significant leverage to counter external pressure. This, combined with rising domestic opposition in the US to Washington’s aggressive policies and prior US claims about “destroying Iran’s military capability,” presents a serious challenge for American decision-makers.

Furthermore, MacGregor stressed that unlike US forces, Iran has the capability to maintain and utilize its missile and defensive reserves, highlighting that limited strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure alone cannot shift the balance of power.

Experts say the current situation clearly shows that Tehran “still possesses political and economic levers to influence the region and the global energy market.”
