Araghchi: No Missile Has Been Launched from Iran Toward Turkey
Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, held a phone conversation to discuss and exchange views on the latest developments in the region.
Referring to the recent quadrilateral meeting attended by the foreign ministers of Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt in Islamabad, the Turkish foreign minister emphasized regional countries’ support for stopping the war and establishing peace and stability.
Iran’s foreign minister, while explaining the latest situation regarding the imposed war by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, stressed the responsibility of all governments to condemn the crimes committed by the aggressors, particularly attacks on schools, universities and scientific centers, historical and cultural sites, production and energy infrastructure, as well as residential areas.
He added that the rhetoric of U.S. officials in explicitly threatening to attack Iran’s energy and production infrastructure is in itself a criminal threat and a clear indication of the U.S. government’s disregard for the fundamental principles of international law and humanitarian norms, and that the international community must respond decisively.
Araghchi described reports by some sources alleging the launch of a missile from Iran toward Turkey as completely baseless, and, while warning against the repetition of false-flag operations by enemies of peace and friendship in the region, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to the principle of good neighborliness and respect for Turkey’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and is ready for joint technical cooperation to examine any possible claims.
