Trump Admits: We Are Like Pirates; We Steal Ships
The U.S. President admitted that the United States Navy acts like pirates regarding the seizure of ships in regional waters.

Tehran - BORNA - While the U.S. military continues Donald Trump’s military ambitions by blockading the Strait of Hormuz and even seizing and confiscating vessels, the U.S. President admitted in a speech: "It's a very profitable business. We are like pirates."

On Friday, referring to his military's aggressive actions in seizing an oil tanker in recent days, Trump said: "We seized the ship, we seized the cargo. We seized the oil. It's a very profitable business. Who would have thought we'd be doing that? We are like pirates. We are in the piracy business, and we steal ships."

Reports indicate that some vessels have been seized by the U.S. in Asian waters after departing from Iranian ports.

Following the start of the illegal war by the U.S. and the Zionist regime on February 28, 2026, Iran announced that passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be prohibited for ships belonging to the U.S., the Zionist regime, and their allies. For commercial vessels of other nations, passage is conditional upon full coordination with Iranian authorities. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has delivered an unprecedented shock to global energy and financial markets, causing fuel prices to surge in many countries, particularly in Europe.

During the war, the Trump administration attempted to control energy market prices through contradictory statements and promises. However, experts state the White House lacked a clear strategy to manage the consequences of the Strait’s closure, making the impact of these statements on the markets only momentary.

Nevertheless, after establishing a two-week ceasefire with the U.S., Iran agreed to the conditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, following the U.S. government's illegal violation of the ceasefire regarding Lebanon and subsequent excessive demands—which led to the failure of the first round of negotiations in Islamabad on April 12—the U.S. initiated a naval blockade of Iran. In response, Iran restored the previous status of the Strait of Hormuz due to the other party's breach of promise.

While enforcing the law on ships attempting unauthorized passage through this waterway, Iranian officials have proposed an initiative to collect tolls from commercial vessels. According to official Iranian announcements, one installment of these tolls was deposited into the national treasury in recent days.

Regarding the actions of the "incredible Navy!", Trump referred to the seizure of an oil tanker's cargo, stating: "With one shot to the engine room, they blew it up; the ship stopped. Then we went in with tugs, and then we sat on it—on everything. Then we took control of the ship, took the cargo, took the oil."

The U.S. President, speaking in Florida, also added: "I do a lot of impossible things, like being president three times."

These remarks come as, according to the law, Trump—having served two terms as president—cannot enter the election race for a third term.
