German Politician: Trump is a Madman
A German politician, referring to the U.S. plan to withdraw thousands of troops from Germany, called Trump a "madman" and welcomed the potential cancellation of the deployment of U.S. intermediate-range missiles in Germany.

Tehran - BORNA - Sahra Wagenknecht, a German politician opposed to Berlin's dependence on Washington, wrote on X: "We do not need American troops or their offensive weapons in Germany. I welcome the possibility of canceling the deployment of American intermediate-range missiles in Germany. This is the best news for security in a long time."

She added: "If it is true that the withdrawal of some American soldiers has also led to the cancellation of the planned deployment of U.S. intermediate-range missiles for this year, this will be the best news for our security in a long time."

The German politician noted: "The idea that a madman like Donald Trump would sit behind the red button of missiles that decide on war and peace in Germany was terrifying. These missiles would have made Germany a primary target for attack." For this reason, she explained, the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance – Reason and Justice (BSW) called for the cancellation of the missile deployment two years ago and was severely criticized for it.

Wagenknecht continued: "We do not need U.S. soldiers or offensive weapons in Germany, and if Europe is not to burn in a nuclear war one day, we eventually need a new 'Ostpolitik' again—a policy based on de-escalation, rebuilding completely destroyed trust, and common security."

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he intends to reduce the number of U.S. troops in Germany by more than 5,000 soldiers. He made this decision following criticism from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz regarding Trump's handling of the U.S. and Zionist regime's war against Iran.

Meanwhile, the Financial Times, quoting an informed source, reported that the United States is reviewing its decision to deploy long-range weapons in Germany, including Tomahawk missiles.
