Iran's MFA Spox: Negotiation is incompatible with imposition and threats
Tehran - BORNA - Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote in a message on the X platform: "The concept of 'negotiation' entails a genuine and sincere effort to engage in dialogue with the aim of resolving a dispute (International Court of Justice, Judgment of 1 April 2011). Therefore, 'negotiation' requires seriousness and good faith."
He continued: "Negotiation is neither 'contention,' nor 'dictation,' nor 'extortion,' nor 'coercion'."
On Wednesday afternoon, in an interview with ISNA regarding some speculations over a potential agreement with the U.S., Esmaeil Baghaei stated: "The U.S. plan and proposal are still being reviewed by Iran, and Iran will convey its views to the Pakistani side after concluding its assessment."
It is noteworthy that in recent hours, in order to cover up the failure of the U.S. President's "Project Freedom," American media outlets have been trying to divert the atmosphere in favor of Trump and the U.S. by spreading speculation and fake news.
In this regard, the American media outlet Axios, in a report, published parts of an agreement envisioned by the U.S. with Iran, in which excessive and unrealistic proposals were raised—proposals that have been strongly rejected by our country's officials in recent days.
ISNA’s correspondent has obtained reliable information that parts of the content published by the American media outlet Axios regarding the Iran-U.S. agreement are media speculation and propaganda; what is still being reviewed by the Iranian negotiating team is the issue of "terminating the war," and the nuclear issue is not being discussed at all during this stage of negotiations.
