Second Qatari LNG tanker passes through Strait of Hormuz
Despite earlier reports suggesting the Qatari gas tanker "Mihzem" had been turned back, Western media outlets reported on Tuesday that the vessel has successfully cleared the Strait of Hormuz and registered its position in the Sea of Oman.

Tehran - BORNA - According to tracking data and satellite imagery, the Mihzem, a Singapore-flagged tanker carrying Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), is now en route to Pakistan. The Wall Street Journal noted that the vessel successfully exited the strategic waterway into the Sea of Oman after an initial period during which its Automatic Identification System (AIS) was reportedly disabled for several hours. This marks the second Qatari tanker to navigate the strait within the last 48 hours.

Simultaneously, Bloomberg confirmed the vessel's movement, stating that the Mihzem updated its location after a significant period of signal disruption. The successful transit follows established procedures in the strategic waterway, where vessels are permitted to pass only after receiving the necessary clearance and verification from Iranian maritime and naval authorities.

This process ensures that all transits through the Strait of Hormuz comply with the heightened security measures and regulatory protocols currently enforced by Iran in the region.
